Vision and Epiphany are works by composer Janet Dunbar, DMA '98, that were premiered by the Dnepropetrovsk State Philharmonic Orchestra in June in the Ukraine. • In the Helen Hayes Awards, honoring outstanding work in Washington, D.C.-area theater, Deborah Wicks La Puma and Karen Zacarías, both '91, were nominated for outstanding new play or musical. Their work, commissioned by the Kennedy Center and the White House Historical Association, is Chasing George Washington: A White House Adventure. Love Story, a one-act by Olivia Swanson Haas, '11, was a finalist in a national competition sponsored by Dentyne Gum and the Manhattan Theatre Club. • Richard Zimler, MA '82, is co-editor of The Children's Hours: Stories of Childhood (Arcadia Books, $15.95), a 26-story collection that benefits Save the Children.
