Yoriko Kishimoto, MBA ’79, became the first Asian-American mayor in Palo Alto’s history when she was elected to the post in January. Kishimoto was named vice mayor in 2006.... Charles Ogletree, ’75, MA ’75, narrates the documentary Race to Execution, set to appear on PBS’s Independent Lens program on March 27. The film follows the paths of two death row inmates to reveal the role race plays in capital punishment. Ogletree, a professor of law at Harvard, founded Harvard’s Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice.... Ryan Hall, ’05, set an American record in the half marathon at the Aramco Houston championships on January 14. His time of 59:43 shattered the old mark by 72 seconds. Hall was the 2005 NCAA 5000-meter champion while at Stanford.
