Stanford conferred 1,775 bachelor’s degrees, 2,357 master’s degrees and 1,056 doctoral degrees at the university’s 125th commencement celebration on Sunday, June 12. Documentary filmmaker Ken Burns delivered the commencement address, and President John Hennessy officiated for the last time before stepping down on August 31. The Most Rev. Dr. Katharine Jefferts Schori, ’74, gave the baccalaureate address at Saturday’s multifaith ceremony, which also featured reflections by senior Zainab Taymuree, winner of the 2016 baccalaureate Student Speaker Contest, and music by the Menlo Brass Quintet and student groups Talisman a cappella and Stanford Taiko. More photos, videos of the inimitable Wacky Walk and the commencement ceremony, as well as the prepared texts of speakers Hennessy, Burns, Jefferts Schori and Taymuree, can be seen here.
