Under the pen name Bella Andre, Nyree (Rabushka) Belleville, ’94,has self-published and sold more than 1 million digital copies of her erotic romance series, The Sullivans—including The Look of Love, From This Moment On and Can’t Help Falling in Love—putting her on bestselling e-books lists around the globe. In a reported seven-figure deal, Harlequin will publish expanded versions of the series as paperbacks, with releases spread over the coming year.
Four large paintings by the late art professor Nathan Oliviera will anchor the new Windhover Contemplative Center, to be built at Santa Theresa Street and Lomita Mall. All four paintings are from the artist’s Windhover series, inspired by birds in flight. The center is envisioned as an oasis for faculty, staff and students and will include an outdoor reflection pool and garden areas.

Cornell marketing professor Brian Wansink, PhD ’91, has long studied factors that influence what, and how much, people eat. In Psychology Reports he describes his study of fast-food restaurants showing that “softening the lighting and music led people to eat less, to rate the food as more enjoyable, and to spend just as much” compared with customers who ate under brighter lights with louder music.
