Landry Fields, '10, has made a habit of exceeding expectations, so maybe we shouldn't be surprised that the former Stanford star has already turned heads in his first season in the NBA. A player drafted in the second round, 39th overall, usually would be coming off the bench and getting limited playing time. Not Fields. He so impressed New York Knicks head coach Mike D'Antoni with his preseason play that D'Antoni put him in the starting lineup for the team's season opener against the Toronto Raptors. Fields was named NBA Rookie of the Month in November after averaging 10.8 points per game.
