While many students this summer are working at internships, studying for graduate school exams or relaxing in the sun, some will be traveling the world with their Stanford pals. A sampling reveals a few of the places student groups are touring this summer: Volunteers in Latin America sends students to shelters in Ecuador for service-learning opportunities; SWEAT is a pre-orientation backpacking excursion in the Sierra for incoming medical students; Project DOSTI provides an opportunity to work at an NGO in India; the Stanford Jazz Orchestra will feel the rhythm from Lyon, France, to Florence, Italy; the Stanford Chamber Chorale will tour England; Graduate School of Business students will conduct strategic projects in Thailand and Africa on behalf of organizations they visited during previous service-learning trips; and the Stanford Shakespeare Society will perform Macbeth at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland.
