What better way to call attention to cool new products than to zip around the Quad on a Segway? So thinks Richard Reis, the executive director of the Alliance for Innovative Manufacturing on campus. Since the personal transporter arrived in April, Reis has encouraged hundreds of faculty, students and visitors to try it out. Most are enthusiastic—sometimes too much so. “Freshmen are the worst,” Reis says. “They think they can do anything.”
