A forest fire that destroyed 242 homes and ravaged 3,100 acres in the Lake Tahoe area in late June came dangerously close to Stanford Sierra Camp, forcing the evacuation of all guests at the resort. The camp was spared, and no injuries were reported. See “Sierra Stalwarts” in this issue for more about Sierra Camp’s response to the fire.
