Circular Logic

Assume one bike per student, add all the faculty and staffers who pedal, and you’ve got a pile-up of accidents waiting to happen. The danger level should drop significantly following the construction of two bike traffic circles—at the infamous “intersection of death” near the clock tower, above, and at the intersection of Lasuen and Panama malls. Campus landscape architect Cathy Blake says that once agaves and other drought-resistant perennials have been planted, cyclists may slow down even more to admire the scenery.
