Way Enough!

This past January and February, the women’s rowing team was welcomed by an unusually calm San Francisco Bay off of Redwood Shores, which made the team’s most intense training months even easier on the eye, if not any easier to endure. The varsity eight and pair (rowed by Karen Munyan and McKayla Taaffe) kept their common goal in sight: The busy spring racing season would start at the end of March.

Two women sit in a rowboat gliding across an expanse of water. The water in front of them is a deep turquoise. Behind them, the water is colored orange as the radiant sky overhead. Photo: Nate Rooks

(Note: “Way enough” is a rowing command that coxswains and coaches yell out when they want rowers to bring the boat to a halt.)
