The Farm is known for developing independent thinkers, but there was a time when campus included a whole lot of sheep. In the early 1900s, athletic buildings and grounds superintendent Sam McDonald’s fuzzy flock of “animated lawn mowers” was tasked with chomping the stadium turf and other green spaces, including in front of the Quaaad.
