Matt Wyndowe and Julio Vasconcellos, both MBA ’07, decided last year to start a podcast about new ideas and entrepreneurship called iinnovate. In 10 short months, the co-producers’ interview roster included former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, ’76, venture capitalist Guy Kawasaki, ’76, and Max Levchin, co-founder of Paypal. Iinnovate soon became the No. 1 entrepreneurship podcast on iTunes. Though Matt and Julio have graduated, the podcast will continue with other students and alumni.

On May 8, Iinnovate talked with Sam Altman, ’07, founder of Loopt, a location-based social networking mobile application that has been called one of Business 2.0’s start-ups to watch. Loopt lets users see where their friends are on cell phone map displays. Among its features, the Boost Mobile service alerts you when one of your approved friends is near you, enabling you to meet up with people when you are otherwise unknowingly in the same area.
