For sophomore placekicker Jordan Williamson, the November 17 showdown against Oregon favored him with a nationally televised occasion to purge the burden of a past failure. Having missed a field goal that would have won last winter’s Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma State, Williamson drilled a 37-yarder in overtime to upset the No. 1 Ducks 17-14 on their home field. His emotional journey culminated in an over-the-railing embrace from one special fan: his father, Grady.
