SLAC professor Richard Taylor, PhD ’62, who won the Nobel Prize for physics in 1990, was appointed Companion of the Order of Canada, the country’s highest honor for lifetime achievement. . . . Daniel Hays, ’41, was awarded the William E. Ladd Medal by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the organization’s highest honor. A professor of surgery and pediatrics at USC School of Medicine, Hays was recognized for his work in pediatric cancer management. . . . Matthew Rabinowitz, ’96, PhD ’01, co-founder and chief technology officer for Bay Area-based Rosum Corporation, has been named to Technology Review magazine’s 2005 list of innovators under 35.
