Live from Stanford

Linda A. Cicero

Outside, nurses, students and the Raging Grannies protested, while inside, Memorial Auditorium was transformed into the infamous “hot seat” March 14. MSNBC’s Chris Matthews hosted Hardball live from the Farm with guest California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. The governator tackled and sometimes dodged Matthews’s questions about gay marriage, minimum wage and his stand on unions. Schwarzenegger also answered questions from a few of the 200 students and faculty on stage with him. When one student asked what keeps him up at night, Schwarzenegger reported that he is “a good sleeper” with a clear conscience, kept up only by the occasional party. No doubt students can empathize.
