Students returned to campus in September to find the new Lathrop Library among the changes. The facility is within the renovated building adjacent to Memorial Auditorium, part of the Graduate School of Business's former location.
The refurbished space houses the expanded East Asia Library; it was moved with other units (including Academic Computing Services and Digital Library Services) from Meyer Library, which is closed and scheduled for demolition.
Highlights of the four-story structure's remodel include rearrangeable seminar rooms and classrooms, plus a 24-hour study space equipped with dual-boot Mac/Windows computers.
The Tech Desk, also transferred from Meyer, provides extensive photo, audio and video expertise. Students can check out cameras, lighting and projectors among other equipment, as well as do oversize printing.
