Bay Area residents are more concerned about the well-being of children than health care, the war in Iraq or the local high cost of living, according to a recent poll conducted by Field Research. The survey was commissioned by the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health, which provides local grants and raises money for the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and pediatric programs at the School of Medicine. The primary child-related concerns of participants in the nine-county area: obesity and unhealthy eating habits; the influence of media and the Internet; and the quality of education. “Children’s issues cut across all demographics,” said foundation spokesperson Andy Krackov.
