For most people, peaking at 18 isn’t a good thing. But Samantha Larson did just that on May 17 when she became the youngest person to climb the highest mountain on each continent—the seven summits. The Long Beach resident deferred coming to Stanford for one year to scale the final mountain, 29,035-foot Mount Everest, with her dad, David. Larson will start at Stanford this fall.
