THE PLAY'S THE THING: We, Like Sheep, by Ginger Turner, is one of eight winning entries in the national Young Playwrights Festival competition. In June, Turner, ’04, and the other winners traveled to New York to attend a nine-day intensive writers’ conference, which culminated with staged readings of the winning plays.

GREEN THUMBS-UP: Biological sciences professor Harold A. Mooney is one of two recipients of this year’s Blue Planet Prize, given for contributions to global environmental conservation by Tokyo’s Asahi Glass Foundation. Mooney was recognized for his pioneering work in plant physiological ecology and for developing quantitative methods to assess the impact of environmental change on plant ecology.
