Tired of the same old career and money advice, two young alums, Jake Greene, ’02, MA ’04, and Ramit Sethi, ’04, MA ’05, are drawing on their own boardroom blunders and financial foibles to help their peers make the difficult transition from college to the real world.

In his recently published book, Whoa, My Boss Is Naked!, Greene references pop culture—everything from the The Bachelor to The Sopranos—to illustrate how to navigate corporate culture. And on his popular blog, iwillteachyoutoberich.com, Sethi eschews penny-pinching and preaches “conscious spending.” Want a $400 iPhone? Fine, he says. But fund your 401K first.

Young people could do worse than learning from the twentysomethings’ examples. After earning his master’s in sociology, Greene founded a marketing and strategy consultancy. And in addition to his day job as VP of marketing at PBwiki, Sethi earns $10,000 to $15,000 per engagement as a corporate speaker, and has just signed a book deal.
