Meet Domo, a three-foot-tall helper bot designed to assist with everyday household chores like putting groceries away. He also mixes a stiff drink. Created by Aaron Edsinger, ’94, in collaboration with fellow researchers in MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Domo was named one of Time magazine’s Best Inventions of the Year for 2007. What makes Domo unique? When he executes a movement, special sensors make sure he applies just the right amount of force, making it safe for him to interact with humans.
