The secret life of pets—and the public display of pet owners' affection—are revealed in Lost Cat: A True Story of Love, Desperation and GPS Technology (Bloomsbury, April). Author Caroline Paul, '86, and her partner, illustrator Wendy MacNaughton, had a notoriously timid cat that went missing one day. They were still mourning five weeks later, when Tibby returned—in fine shape. Buying collar cameras and tracking equipment, the humans decided that when Tibby next roamed their San Francisco neighborhood, they would learn where he went and whom he befriended.
