Chapitre (www.chapitre.com) -- A bookstore that sells all kinds of French books, from medieval to modern. The site will notify you of new releases by your favorite authors and track down out-of-print editions.

The Currency Site (www.oanda.com/convert/classic) -- Check conversion rates for the currencies of more than 100 countries on the day of your choosing, present or past. You can also make a wallet-size "cheat sheet" that converts standard amounts. Says Cazelles: "This is useful for me during and after my travels in Europe."

CNNfn (www.cnnfn.com) -- Provides up-to-date business news, including details on government economic moves. Allows investors to track stocks and get investment advice.

Google (www.google.com) -- A stunningly simple website that allows you to enter a phrase and get matching websites. Says Frankel: "They have a search engine that seems to give higher-quality results than the others."

WWW Computer Architecture Home Page (www.cs.wisc.edu/~arch/www) -- The site includes calls for papers, information on conferences and nuggets on peers. Says Dally: "This lets me keep up on everyone's latest work before it's published."

Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (www.aopa.org) -- "As I pilot, I find the page a great jumping-off point to online resources related to flying," Dally says. Includes a weather section with radar maps and links to FAA weather reports.
