Makin’ Hay, a three-figure sculpture by Tom Otterness, arrived in mid-July for a two-year stay on the Farm. The steel-and-hay women made their debut at What the Hay!, a contest sponsored by Montana farmers, and now reside on a hillside near the intersection of Stanford Avenue and Junipero Serra Boulevard. “I think they’re charming,” frequent Dish walker and Menlo Park resident Debbie Umphreys told Stanford Report. “My friends and I are working on names for all of them.”
