This year's Commencement, on June 14, kept with its traditional blend of the wacky with the wistful. At the Sunday ceremony in Stanford Stadium, the university conferred 1,704 bachelor's degrees, 2,338 master's degrees and 984 doctorates. In the Main Quad at Saturday's Baccalaureate ceremony, civil rights leader, attorney and investment banker Vernon E. Jordan Jr. (below) urged graduates to "disrupt injustice" and to "hack bias and bigotry."
